The importance of water quality

Perfectly pure water for the best float experience.

It's sort of like floating in a giant bottle of water... with some epsom salt! No but seriously, cleanliness is a huge deal to us, not because it's the law but because we want to deliver the best experience possible for you.

How do we do this?

1. Three Stages of Filtration

Before and after each float we filter each pod on average 3-4 times using a very sophisticated filtration system.

  • The first stage of filtration goes through an industrial 20-micron filter, which will filters down to the size of a grain of salt.

  • The second stage of filtration goes through another industrial 1-micron filter, filtering down to 1-micron, which is 1/15th the size of a human hair.

  • Additionally, we use an Ultraviolet Sterilization Chamber with the power of pure oxygen (Ozone) to treat our water. These two naturally powerful processes eliminate 99.99% of all contaminants in water and reduce the use of pool chemicals up to 80%. No toxic chemicals are used, no metals or minerals, only pure light and pure oxygen.

2. Testing & Maintaining

It's the law, and we follow it to the letter written. Daily inspections, testing and maintenance are highly important for customer safety and experience.

  • We test our water several times a day and keep a log of it. We test for water quality & buoyancy and make adjustments as needed every single day.

  • Bacteria and contaminants cannot thrive in a salt water environment. Our super saturated epsom salt water is a natural system of killing and eliminating.

3. Water & Salt Changeover

One of the biggest questions we get from customers is "How often do you change your water?". At Urban Float, our water is naturally turned over over the course of 5-7 days based on use. With each use of the pod, water and salt are lost. During our daily and nightly checks, we re-fill each pod with new water and new salt so over the course of of a week, the water is refreshed and constantly clean.
