Red Light Therapy

Urban float is happy to offer red light therapy, a healthy, non-invasive way to skin by stimulating a part of your cells called mitochondria, to produce more energy. Red light therapy helps your body recover from a variety of ailments by stimulating your natural ability to heal and providing the nutrients it needs to do so. Capable of reaching 10mm below the surface of the skin, red light therapy through concentrated LED light is used every day to reduce wrinkles and blemishes, restore muscle strength, and even induce weight loss by putting the body to work.

Each red light therapy session takes only 15 minutes, and can be enjoyed after a float session, in addition to an infrared sauna visit or on its own.

See & Feel the Benefits of Red Light

Non-Invasive Wrinkle Treatment

One of the most popular types of red light therapy is recovery from wrinkles and blemishes. This non-invasive wrinkle treatment can be used to reduce wrinkles on the sensitive skin of the face, neck, and palms, as well as any other areas of skin that you choose. Red light wrinkle treatment works by stimulating the skin to heal, activating the body’s immune system to recover its natural beauty.

SUPPORTING WEIGHT LOSS

Red light provides the body with nutrients and energy without the calories, and sets it in motion burning the calories the body already has. The red lights can also be pointed to a certain area of the body, facilitating weight loss in a specific desired area. By using intense red and near-infrared light for up to 18 minutes at a time, you can start moving toward your dream shape and size.

BUILDING MUSCLE STRENGTH

When muscles are put to work, they get stronger as they recover. Red light therapy bolsters this effect, providing the nutrients the body needs to build the muscles even stronger. Red light therapy can be used to supplement weight training, physical therapy, and any other form of exercise that gets the muscles working. Red light therapy can also be used to help muscles recover after an injury. Add a quick red light therapy session after your workouts to see fantastic results!

Fighting Seasonal Affective Disorder

In rainy areas like Western Washington, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a common ailment. In cold and rainy weather, Washingtonians suffer from low vitamin D and lack of mental stimulation, and may experience seasonal depression, which often leads to feelings of dullness, sadness, and malaise. Providing the same healthy frequencies of light as the sun, red light therapy helps the body to recover from the symptoms of SAD, making it easier to enjoy cold and rainy days.

How Red Light Therapy Works

With pure red and near-infrared light, red light therapy provides the body with nourishment which supports important functions of the body. We use two frequencies of light to promote healing and rejuvenation of healthy skin and muscle. One set of LED lights provides deep red light at 640 nanometers, the same color as tulips and hibiscus. The other provides near-infrared light at 840 nanometers, a near-invisible light that is easily absorbed by the mitochondria in the body. Red light therapy does not tan your skin. Instead, it enriches your skin with energy and nutrients.

Red light therapy provides a variety of health benefits by stimulating the immune system and providing both the nutrients and energy needed directly to the target area(s). It is proven to improve skin smoothness, fight acne, and reduce wrinkles. By increasing the length of treatment and intensity as needed, red light therapy is able to reach 10mm beneath the surface of the skin. This treatment is proven to induce healing of the muscles and promote weight loss. Generalized red light therapy is also proven to relieve symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), providing the sunlight that’s sorely missed during rainy weather and wintertime.

How Long Red Light Therapy Takes

Depending on the area of the body and the desired effect, treatment takes between three and fifteen minutes. You can come in on your lunch break, in between errands, or even on your way home from a grocery trip! Everyone’s skin is different, but most benefit from red light therapy three to five times per week for two to three months. Red light therapy is easy to schedule at Urban Float, and will help your skin rejuvenate in a matter of minutes.
