Frequently Asked Questions

Don't be shy! Ask us anything you don't see here by submitting a question at the bottom of this page.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?

Just yourself. Towels, showers, soap and shampoo, ear-plugs, etc. for your float will be provided at check-in. If you have long hair, you may want to bring a hair tie and comb for after your float.

IS THE EPSOM SALT GOOD FOR MY SKIN?

Epsom salt has actually been used for treating skin ailments and will leave your skin feeling smooth and silky. We also sell our epsom salt for use at home between floats.

WHAT IF I’M CLAUSTROPHOBIC?

People with claustrophobia consistently report no problems with floating. You’re always in control of your environment, and can choose to float with the pod open and room lights on.

CAN I DROWN IF I FALL ASLEEP?

No. The 10 inches of water is so buoyant you can’t help but float at the top. Some people do choose to sleep in the pods.

HOW IS THE WATER KEPT CLEAN?

The highly sterile salt water is fully filtered three times between each float through a 1 micron pool filter (that’s 1/100th the diameter of a human hair!) and is sanitized with a disinfectant and UV light.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND?

Absolutely! You can’t float together in the same pod, but you can book floats at the same time.

DO I FLOAT NUDE?

Most people don’t wear anything when floating, and this is what we recommend as well. Anything you wear while floating will become heavy with epsom salt and cause a distraction during your float.

IS IT SAFE TO FLOAT IF I AM PREGNANT?

Not only is it safe but it’s encouraged! Some say floating is “a pregnancy must!” Floating allows you to escape the added stress and weight of pregnancy by being in a weightless environment, taking the strain off of your body. We have also heard testimonies that it is an awesome way to bond with your baby.

CAN I FLOAT WHILE ON MY PERIOD?

Yes.  Just follow the same protocol you would for a public swimming pool or hot tub.

ARE THERE ANY WEIGHT OR SIZE RESTRICTIONS FOR FLOATING?

Our float tanks have been tested with floaters weighing up to 350 pounds who have been able to float without issue. Feel free to come in and try it! If for some reason it simply doesn’t work, we’ll refund you! (note: this has never happened)

IS THIS NEW AGED MUMBO JUMBO?

Floating has been around for over 40 years, and has oodles of published research to back it up. No mumbo or jumbo here.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

Customers aged between 13-17 are required to have a parent or guardian accompany them, sign our release waiver and remain on-site for the duration of the float. Customers under 13 are required to have a parent or guardian sign our waiver and remain in the room during the float and should coordinate with the spa manager prior.
